éS Hong Kong Filming Mission!

éS team riders Eric Koston, Rick McCrank, Justin Eldridge and Cale Nuske went on an exclusive filming trip to Hong Kong, China in January, skating charted (and uncharted) territory throughout the city. Hong Kong offers many spots to skateboarders, most of which are incredible. From handrails to double sets to super-smooth marble ledges, we tore Hong Kong a new eyehole, which you will see in the upcoming éS video and an article in The Skateboard Mag.

Rick McCrank's knee surgery last August didn't hold him back on this trip! Crankers cranked out a few sparkles of his own, with a back tail shove-it down a mellow six stair, and a few other tricks we won't tell you about just yet. (You have to wait until the video drops.) Cale Nuske surprised us as well, with his stair assault and flip trick capability. Needless to say, we got some much-needed footage from the previously injured Cale. Justin Eldridge annihilated every rail, stair and ledge he was positioned in front of, and Eric Koston had some fun on a fan's scooter. Check the Hong Kong Photo Gallery here on the éS Web site soon to get a better look--Eric is even amazing on a scooter!

Brian S., Warren, Nigel and Darryl were our tour guides for this trip. Without those guys, we would have been hurting for spots, directions and serious shopping--not to mention some hard laughs. With these dudes at our sides, we got many laughs, many sessions, and many Mongkok / VL shopping sessions under our Victor Lee belts.

Brian S. is off the charts! From his dope apparel line knowledge to the amazing 852 skate shop he runs to his swell sense of humor, he was best tour guide yet. And I've got to say that out of any tour we've been on, this was the most eventful one. Filming and photos were clocked with ease in Hong Kong. There are just way too many spots there to list on one page.

Our tour guides were quite knowledgeable when it came to spots. We skated more than 15-plus spots in 10 days, and with China just a 45-minute train ride away, there are another 20-plus spots to hit-up on a return trip. I'm not going to go into more detail about the tricks and lines our éS team riders accomplished. Again, you'll just have to wait for the video to come out.

Let's just say that this was the beginning of many amazing filming sessions that will go down worldwide with the éS team this year. Maybe we'll even go back to China with Tom Penny, Rodrigo Tx. and Javier Sarmiento for another trip soon.

We'd like to give a big shout out to éS distributor Evergreen for generously letting us raid the crap out of their shop. Thanks to everyone who made this trip happen.
