Unlike vulc shoes which use glue to hold the different parts of the shoe together, the upper and outsole in STI Fusion shoes are held together using liquid PU foam. As the PU dries it creates an unbreakable bond. By adding a piece of foxing tape; a vulcanized look is achieved.
Not only is STI Fusion more durable and comfortable, it is also twice as flexible and 20% lighter than previous generations of vulc shoes.
e-Suede™ is STI’s latest creation and was developed to withstand the demands of skateboarding where abrasion and friction from grip tape can destroy regular types of suede in only a couple days. Tested exclusively in the STI research lab on its custom built Ollie and kick flip machine, e-Suede™ has been proven to provide significant durability performance compared to other types of suede.
Foam Lite insoles are tuned for maximum comfort and are formulated with a breathable moisture wicking material called Ortholite. This durable lasting foam stays squishy for a long time for superior comfort. The insoles also incorporate recycled rubber to make them more eco friendly.
STI Evolution Foam
Engineered to function as both the midsole and outsole, STI Evolution Foam™ replaces EVA, PU and heavy rubber with a durable, long lasting, impact-resistant and ultra-lightweight cushioning material that can be used as a single solution for the midsole and outsole of skate shoes and snowboard boots.
