Live from the South by South East Tour.
Justin Eldridge
On a 1 to 10 scale, Justin Eldridge is turned up to 11. His style is so solid and clean, his tricks so top-notch, his legendary switch skills so effortless, he is at a completely different level. For instance, in the Chocolate segment of Girl's Yeah Right video, Justin begins his part by snapping his finger out of place trying to crooked grind a bench.
He then pulls up his hand for the video camera, grabs the offending finger and just slides it back into place, giving a little groan and a “Let’s keep skating,” in the process. Justin owns a whole library of new tricks that a lot of pros are going to have a hard time keeping up with. One of his last tricks in Yeah Right is a switch flip salad grind down LA High’s notorious rail, which is a really tall and long rail to be doing switch flip anything onto.
Not to mention the fact he can take tricks that would be considered enders, like a nollie nosegrind, and turn it into a warm-up trick for round handrails. It’s safe to say Justin has come up. Before the Girl video, a lot of kids didn’t know who he was, but now the general populace not only understands who Justin Eldridge is, they also think the same thing we do–that he’s leading skateboarding into the future.
Justin has a strong, happy and outgoing personality. He fits perfectly on the éS team. He is not one to get too angry if he can’t land a trick first try. He usually hides a lot of his frustration and directs all of his angry energy toward his board so that he lands a trick within two or three tries, then skates away happy. Another thing that makes Justin stand out from the crowd is that he is really humble. He will never admit that he’s better than most kids out there, even though he is.
Originally from Saugus, California, Justin started skating in ninth grade on a Christmas board at the local fun box and flat bar. These days, he loves skating with Eric Koston, going out filming street with éS filmer Scuba Steve and Curtis, and riding mini-ramps on the side–all while donning his very own éS Theory or Theory 1.5 mid-top pro model shoe, backed up by underground hip-hop like Living Legends.
Justin’s career highlights so far have been traveling and meeting a bunch of new people. “Traveling is the best. It’s the funnest part of skateboarding, when you get to skate so many different places.” Turning pro for Chocolate would also have to figure in there somewhere, for sure. His future goals include just skating, having fun and “not getting caught up in all of the drama.” It’s safe to say that Justin Eldridge has arrived and has a long career in skateboarding ahead of him.
No doubt Justin is steady stacking footage for the upcoming Chocolate video, in which he's sure to have a memorable and groundbreaking part. Let's just hope he doesn't need to pop his finger back into place this time around.

From England With Love
Following the recent tour across Europe, the first coverage is starting to drop in print publications across the globe. First up is the UK's Sidewalk magazine who have somehow squeezed 18 pages into their latest issue and blessed cover status to éS UK's own John Tanner.
Day of Driving
Yesterday was the longest drive of the trip. 560 miles of highway, a whole day event. We crammed in the van, most too tired to get up, and enjoyed some solid traffic for the first two hours, just to get out of the Virginia Beach area.
John put this shirt on to constantly remind me how he felt about the van ride.

Virginia Beach
Yesterday was our mellow day on this tour, all of us needed a little beach time. No street skating, just a mellow demo and signing over at 17th St.
Atlanta Day 2
Atlanta was hot and got kicked out of everywhere we tried to skate. Sweated few a couple days of skating before a late night drive to Raleigh. Here are a few pics from yesterday.
Atlanta Day 1
Yesterday we cut through the panhandle of Florida and headed through Alabama on the way to Atlanta, Georgia. Josh our local yelp expert found a nice lunch stop for us along the way in Montgomery.

Val Surf / Skate Lab demo
On Saturday while the masses gathered for X-Games 16, 8 of the éS team visited one of the spiritual homes of skateboarding. Val Surf the oldest running skate shop in the world combined with the park SkateLab (the premier museum on Skate culture) to present a demo by some of the éS team.
Here's a quick little edit of about half the tricks that got laid done beneath these hallowed walls. The demo was a great warm up session for the South by South East Tour which kicks off this weekend.
If you've never been, go witness the incredible history which speaks from their walls and rip the park while you're there, safe in the knowledge that the purity of skateboarding rests comfortably in Simi valley.
