Rodrigo Teixeira
Amazing everyone with his uncanny switch skating, as well as his penchant for combining tricks in a way that no one thought possible, Rodrigo Teixeira has also become as well-known for his big smile and gracious demeanor as for his lethal skating ability, both traits that are fairly common among his fellow Brazilians.
Born in 1983, Rodrigo Tx. began skating in Sao Paulo, Brazil in late 1995, where the skateboard was but another toy to play on with friends, the most pure form of skateboarding that Rodrigo misses to this day and that he still cites as a career highlight. Rodrigo began making ripples in the contest scene overseas, which is where he first caught the eye of the American skate industry. After joining the underrated team at The Firm, Tx started turning those ripples tidal by crushing every spot he came in contact with.
Although Rodrigo made a move to the U.S. to launch his career in late 1999, he now splits his time between both North and South America and Europe, where he can regularly be found upping the standards of skateboarding. Any way you slice it, Rodrigo Tx. has ascended to the top of the contemporary skateboarding heap. Witness his parts in the epic éS Menikmati and The Firm Can't Stop videos, as well as his endless contest and demo appearances and streets sessions all over the world.
Rodrigo made the move from The Firm to Flip in 2006, joining other heavy hitters like Geoff Rowley and Mark Appleyard. With a sure-to-be-legendary part in the upcoming Flip video Extremely Sorry, Tx. will definitely become one of your favorite skaters, and is probably already your favorite skater’s favorite. Through it all, his skating continually improves by leaps and bounds, so you'll have to keep your eye on this man, who'll definitely be blowing up even more in the future.
