The rubber is very grippy for skating, these come small though. I recommend ordering a half size up. They don't fit like the rest of the 'es shoes at all. Definitely go up half a size on these.

Loved the shoes. Very light and super comfortable. Excellent board feel and cushion at the same time. Skated em for a couple weeks now and they're holding up strongly.
